Job Description: Description

"To execute and manage accounting and tax compliance activities, primarily of Thomson Reuters' entities in Taiwan. Be a key contact for outsourced accountants and tax agents. This role reports to an Area Controller and is located in the Beijing Accounting Operations Centre. Activities include:
1. Month end close and year end reporting in accordance with IFRS and Thomson Reuters internal accounting policies.
2. Preparation of statutory accounts.
3. Managing various tax returns, tax reportings, supporting tax in tax audits, transfer price reviews, tax risk assessments, supporting tax in implementing tax strategies.
4. Support company secretarial activities by working closely with APAC Secretariat.
5. Participate in or lead various projects."

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Ensure monthly accounting and quarterly reporting duties are completed timely and accurately in accordance with IFRS and Thomson Reuters internal accounting policies.
- Review Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure that all outstanding items are cleared in a timely manner.
- Prepare tax accounting provision and estimation computations as required and submit for review by Tax team.Tax Compliance:
- Prepare Indirect tax and Withholding Tax returns, arrange payment or refund and file the returns on time.
- Review transfer pricing computations.
- Coordinate with Tax team and outsourced service provider to prepare and file the corporate income tax returns on time.Tax Audits:
- Receive notification of tax audits or queries from tax authority, or via outsourced service provider.
- Ensure that Tax team and Accounting Operations management are promptly notified of tax audit developments.
- Provide accounting support and compile accounting records for review by Tax team and submission to tax authority.
- Provide support to Tax team to identify and quantify tax risks arising from tax audits.Others:
- Preparation and review of statutory accounts.
- Support company secretarial activities by working closely with APAC Secretariat and external corporate secretarial agents.
- Coordinate preparation of Surveys and Statistics Returns for timely filing.
- Support business or legal entity acquisition and restructuring projects as required.
- Participate in or lead projects as assigned from time to time.

Qualification:
Education:
- Accounting Degree
- CA/CPA/internationally recognised professional accounting qualification

Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years work experience in a similar role within a shared services environment.
- Good team player, adaptable to change and willingness to take on new responsibilities.
- Driven and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and deliver under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Manage internal & external relationships.Desired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:
- Good working knowledge of SAP
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel & Word
- Good communication skills
