Job Description: The Federal Tax Manager manages the preparation of Federal Income Tax and Flat Tax returns, the fiscal dictamen for local and federal contributions , Monthly advanced payments of Income Tax and FAS 109 analysis. The person will assist with federal tax audits, tax planning projects, providing tax analysis on new products or initiatives, upgrades and modifications to ERP and TAX computer systems, federal tax incentive opportunities, and documentation and testing of internal controls and procedures as required by Sarbanes Oxley. The Federal Tax Manager will review existing processes and procedures and develop and implement more efficient processes and procedures for data gathering and tax return preparations and documentation. The person will conduct thorough tax research to develop concise analysis and recommendations regarding planning opportunities and various tax positions. **The person in charge of this position will be responsible for VAT ( Permanent payments , annual tax return(s) . informative tax return(s) and perform a tax research analysis and recommendations for any product. **In addition to this the tax manager will be responsible for all local contributions issues. Responsibilities The position will report to and support the Director Taxation and the position is responsible for ensuring timely compliance with the applicable tax laws for Pay-Back and Loyalty Partner and for providing assistance to the Director Taxation on any tax planning initiatives. This includes the monthly and annual income Tax Provision, Inflationary Adjustment , Tax Depreciation , Annual tax return and annual fiscal dictamen filings and Annual and monthly informative tax returns , reconciliation and maintenance of income accounts as well as oversight of the testing of internal controls as required by Sarbanes Oxley. The person will perform tax research which will assist in determining appropriate filing and accounting positions and also help in the reduction of tax costs related to the Mexican operations through effective planning. The person will provide assistance in responding to auditor queries in a timely manner assessing tax exposures as well as providing high value-added consulting to both the local and global business partners.

Qualifications

Position Qualifications : A tax professional with at least 7 years in public accounting/industry with thorough knowledge of Mexican federal tax law, particularly federal taxation of corporations . Solid understanding of Mexican and US GAAP as it pertains to tax accounting as well as a strong knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess information and apply tax principles to determine tax impact and propose tax treatment to Director of Taxation. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly and effectively to colleagues, senior management and other individuals within the organization. Strong influencing and negotiating skills in order to effectively manage relationships with business partners. Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and prioritize to meet all deadlines. This person must have demonstrable strong analytical and problem solving skills. He or she must be able to think and act independently and take initiative when appropriate. This person must be able to work in a complex work environment. To be successful in this position, the individual need to have strong communication and people skills proven with all levels of the organization. This individual needs to be familiar with MS Office software, electronic tax research tools (eg: IDC , Internet , Sipred , Themis , DIMM among other.) and must be Result oriented , Decision maker and have strong technical experience on federal Taxes and a lot experience dealing with audits performed by the Ministry of Finance.
